The action “Operation Westmount” has not been organized or approved by the GA of Occupy Montreal which functions by direct democracy.
[P]
The [1] Occupons Montreal Kitchen will be present, as will members of the [2] chorale du peuple and HUNDREDS of students. Please read my article in [3] the latest issue of 99% Occupy Montreal Journal or check the [4] event pagefor more information about C-11.
Please sign [5] this petition and [6] this one too.
I propose Occupons Montreal takes an official stance againstt C-11 and supports this action on February 10th.
[P]
I propose that Occupy Montreal support a talk regarding the tar sands. Capacity of the cafe is between 50 and 60.
Here is [1] the event. And here is a [2] large version of the poster.
[P]
The final proposition accepted is for a budget on $300 maximum for 2500 buttons. If we can find materials for less, we will buy from there.
[P]
-In a trial period until the end of February

I propose that the [1] External Communications Regulations & Guidelines becomes the official code of conduct for communications of Occupons Montreal.
[P]
I propose that the general assembly proposition system be used PRIMARILY for the following types of propositions: Philosophy of the movement, Actions, Changes in the structure of the General Assembly, Utilisation du nom d’Occupons MOntreal / du support d’Occupons Montreal, and Financial Requests (over $100).
[P]
This proposition is submitted to the discretion of the General Assembly to officially declare our support of the McGill Occuparty which began on the morning of Tuesday, February 7th on the 6th floor of the James Administration Building.
The Occuparty is in response to the administration’s lack of respect for student voices, underlined by a recent decision by the Provost Anthony Masi and the Vice-Provost (Student Life and Learning) Morton Mendelson not to recognize a student referendum on the continued existance of QPIRG McGill and CKUT, the radio station 90.3. The partiers are presently in the offices of Mendleson on the 6th floor, without access to food or internet, except by their smartphones. Up to this point, the administration has responded to only one of the Partier’s demands, for the existance of CKUT (despite a statement released earlier claiming that they will not negotiate with those who use disruptive tactics). There is a parallel occuparty which has been established outside the building, which is not very well-provisioned as far as supplies, but which is motivated by a powerful hope.
Therefore, I propose that 1) Occupons Montréal declares our solidarity with the Occuparty of McGill, in recognition of the values we share with the partiers as far as direct democracy and accessibility of education for all. 2) Those occupiers who so wish lend to the outside partiers their camping supplies, such as tarps and tents, as well as their physical presence.
Please spread and join us.

Solidarity with the #6PARTY, Lobbycupiers and campers within and around the McGill James Admin building. Follow their rad partyblog here, and go down to show your support and share in some radical free education, vegan treats and student solidarity! From the partyblog:
Professors, students, MUNACA workers, hanger-ons, and party animals all chose to enter the first floor of James in order to hold teach-ins, lectures, and anti-oppression workshops. Everything was OK until 9:30 pm last night (…) At that point, no one was allowed to leave, or use the washroom. Food that was prepared and delivered by Midnight Kitchen and Pizza Services Inc was turned away.
With regards to the washroom, the Lobbycupiers were told that “security will not kick them out, but that bodily functions will force them out.” (…) At this point (10:30 am 8 Feb 20120) it is unclear whether or not the Lobbycupiers can stay any longer.
THERE IS ALSO A SOLIDARITY TENT CITY BEING BUILT IN COMMUNITY SQUARE / PLACE 10 NOV / JAMES SQUARE / VISITOR’S SQUARE – come down and show your support!

“What you’re doing is not small; it’s huge. It’s not going to be pleasant, it’s not going to be easy, but, in theological terms, we have to vanquish what are, in essence, the systems of death”.(Chris Hedges, addressing members of Occupy Montreal)
